Filming on Saint Martin's Island
Saint Martin's Island is Bangladesh's only coral island, off the southern tip of the Teknaf peninsula, with turquoise water, coral shoreline, palm-lined beaches and almost no urban clutter. It is the strongest location in the country for premium travel films, resort and lifestyle campaigns, and nature or marine-conservation stories.
What productions need to know:
- Seasonal access only: the island is open to visitors from November to January, with a travel pass and a daily cap of 2,000 people. It is closed from February to October.
- Overnight stays: November allows day visits only, so multi-day island shoots are best planned for December or January.
- Getting there: ships run from Cox's Bazar during the season; crossings depend on sea conditions, so we always schedule a weather buffer day.
- Environmental rules: the island is a sea-turtle breeding ground with a strict code of conduct, including no polythene. Shoots need additional local administration permission, and drones need CAAB approval.
