TV Commercial Production Process in Bangladesh

A 30-second TVC at Libanza Films starts from BDT 5,50,000. The process below is what that covers: brief, script, pre-production, shoot, edit, grade and a broadcast-ready master. A straightforward spot is four to six weeks. TVC production in Bangladesh.

Nothing is filmed until the script and the storyboard are signed off. Most of the cost of a weak TVC is spent correcting a decision that should have been locked in pre-production.

TV commercial production process in Bangladesh

1. The Objective

A TVC starts with one job. What should the viewer do, and who is that viewer? A brief that names three objectives produces a spot that does none of them well.

  • One audience, not “everyone in Bangladesh”
  • One action: visit, call, recall the brand
  • The line the brand must say, and the line it must not

2. Research and Concept

The concept is tested against what the audience already believes, not against what the brand wishes they believed. Two or three routes are presented. One is chosen.

  • Competitor spots in the same category
  • Where the audience actually sees the brand
  • One concept locked before script

3. Script

A 30-second script is about 75 words. It names the product, the proof and the action. Voiceover, on-screen text and dialogue are written as separate lines so the edit is not guessing.

  • Length locked: 15, 30 or both
  • Legal and brand lines marked
  • Signed off before casting

4. Storyboard

The storyboard is the shot list the client approves. It shows framing, the product, and where the line lands. Approving it is what stops a reshoot.

  • One frame per shot, with the line under it
  • Product shots marked
  • Signed off before locations are booked

5. Pre-Production

Cast, locations, crew, kit and the call sheet. This is where a Dhaka shoot stays a Dhaka shoot, or becomes two cities and a drone.

  • Cast shortlist and callbacks
  • Location recce and permits
  • Call sheet issued the day before
TVC pre-production

6. The Shoot

One to three days for a 30-second spot. The storyboard is the running order. The client approves key frames on the day so the edit is not a surprise.

  • Product and pack shots first
  • Safety and continuity notes
  • Selects shared the same day

7. Post-Production

Edit, grade, mix, supers and the master. A 15-second cutdown is made from the approved 30, not cut as a separate film. Delivery is the broadcast master plus the digital sizes.

  • Rough cut, then fine cut
  • Grade and mix
  • Master, 15-second, and digital sizes
